Okay, I just don't think this works... It's got a very candid kind of feel, it's not very sharp, it's strange... Is she wearing only one sock? And why is she confused about being under a car? I guess I am puzzled, so that part worked out. As for the rest of it... I'm not so sure.

That expression doesn't so much say "puzzled", or even "lost" to me as it says "sulking" or "distressed".
