Challenge: Abstract Macro II (Advanced Editing IV)
Collection: Challengers
Camera: Canon EOS-350D Rebel XT
Lens: Canon EF-S 60mm f/2.8 Macro USM
Location: Neighbours weathered rock, from there garden edge.
Date: Sep 24, 2006
Aperture: 4.0
ISO: 200
Shutter: 1/125
Galleries: Abstract, Macro
Date Uploaded: Sep 24, 2006

Well, I love textures, color, and abstract, so couldn't go passed taking a "macro" shot of my neighbours weathered rocks, which they have as a garden edge. I love the way the rock has exposed itself with the weather, chipping away layers of rock, to show the deep rich jewel colors beneath.

Shot at 60.0mm away with my macro lens, on a tripod.
Shot in the raw format, and processed as much as possible in my "raw" shooter program.
In photo shop, I did a tiny bit of cloning, and some burning.
I then sharpened in smart sharpen, and unsharp mask, plus reduced noice, plus brightness and contrast.
I then added a border, and re size for web.....

I had no clue what this one was, but that was the point of the challenge, right? The colors are so warm and wonderful, this one kept getting bumped up as I looked at it each time. Well done! :)

A "wow" shot to me too. Under-rated, a few minutes of reflection makes it better and better.

Strange and deep colors, unregular and interesting forms. One of the best in the competition imo.

I love this. To me, this is a true abstract. I have no idea what it is, but I don't care. Love the variances and all of those colors. WOW 8
