For a long time I never had a camera because I couldn't afford one, but I guess I've always had a bit of an interest in photography. I was always conceptualizing and thinking about ways to view things and how to capture them in regards to perspective. My first "real" camera that actually belonged to me was a Fuji S9100. Since then, I have learned a great deal from DPC and on my own accord. After awhile, I wanted more than the Fuji could offer and purchased my D300. These days, I also shoot some film (Pentax ME SUPER SE and Nikon F100) as well, and am working to do some printing with my enlarger. Outside of photography I enjoy lots of outdoor pursuits (mountain biking, backpacking, mountaineering, snowshoeing, fishing, and pretty much anything in the outdoors) as well as some messing about on my bmx when time permits.

"At our best and most fortunate we make pictures because of what stands in front of the camera, to honor what is greater and more interesting than what we are. We never accomplish this perfectly, though in return we are given something perfect- a sense of inclusion. Our subject thus redefines us, and is part of the biography by which we want to be known."
