| Biography: |
Final year PhD student researching in Human Computer Interaction (my research here). Have been a shutterbug for about 15 years now and wanting to take my photography up a notch or ten. Most of my photos are on flickror in my large unsorted neg box that I've been putting off scanning for way too long.
Also a keen motorcyclist and take helmetcam footage, which can be seen at youtube. I've been shooting a few photos from the bike and I'll post a few when I get a decent one.
The Quasimojo Shooting Manifesto v2.0 March 08
- Get over 'people pleasing' when it comes to voting
- Select the submission that I like the most
- Accept comment advice from DPCists that shoot photographs that I like, ignore those from people with no camera, taste or clue
- Find a team of like minds to join where I can take advice from people whose opinion matters to me
- Take more risks and push the envelope where I can even if it means losing out to dog shots, cute children, wine glasses or glaciers
- Learn to channel all this frustration into greater creativity and better technical execution
- Above all: personal evolution before DPC revolution
Goals for 2008
- fill my profile photos up with the best 6s I can fill profile with 7s
- get a score > 7 in a challenge get another
- get a top 10 finish get another
- get a ribbon
- enter every single challenge Enter as many as possible - missed Pet Portrait
- develop my own photographic style
- learn to ignore scores and be happy :)
Favourite Quotes from around DPC
jonfrommk:The only bad news is a start a new job tomorrow and I dont think it would impress them if I spent all day hitting the update button
Art Roflmao: Give them a note from your therapist explaining that it helps you get over your porn addiction. :P
Jaxter: For an example, and forgive me for going outside our medium here, if the 1812 Overture was instead titled Psychedelic Love Sheep, more people would listen to classical music.

My new daily mantras aka DPCist Wisdom
L2: It sounds like some members might be looking for external appreciation of their wit and wisdom, when really that should be coming from within.
Frankie_LV: What is more of a concern to me is the comment. The populist, I wouldn't worry about trying to satisfy everyone or one group this will only lead to three things. Frustration, second guessing yourself & your images, & taking away your creativity all of which are bad news. I have looked at your work it is wonderful. Just stick with your ideals & creativity the scores will come. |
