Born May 21, 1953 I grew up as Lexi Deane Baker in the mountains outside of Altoona Pennsylvania, where I found relief from my family’s limited means in roaming around the hills and valleys of the area.
Moving to Ambler Pa. in my early teens, I had a chance to experience a more suburban area with more numerous distractions, but still yearned for the hills I had left behind. Ironically enough, I finally settled in the flat open area of South Jersey.
I have raised four wonderful children under sometimes difficult circumstances. Injured in an automobile accident in 1989, confined to a wheelchair, separated from my husband, I graduated to crutches and eventually to a cane and became a daycare provider for five children. After a short period of time I remodeled part of my home to become a full preschool for 15 children. Ten years later the school was closed due to being too physically taxing.
Today, 20 years out of high school, with the encouragement of my oldest son and my husband, I am running my own business as a Graphic Designer and artist. My love of nature and children can be seen in most of my computer generated surrealist art work originating from my own digital photography.
“I have always loved to take pictures of nature and children. I was introduced to the computer some time after my accident and quickly became fascinated with what I could accomplish by combining my computer skills with my photography.
I don’t think more than a day ever goes by without my sitting down to work with a photo on the computer.”
