I took photography in school about 19 years ago. I loved it and tried to learn as much as I could. When I left school I did not pursue it as much as I wanted but started again when I was about 23 or 24. I started to get more and more into it but had to give it up as the job I had at the time just would not support it, it was just so expensive to get film processed and buy equipment.
In October 2006 I saw a rebel XT on sale for under $800.00 so I got it. I started to take pictures again and oh what a mistake that was :)
Since my purchase of the camera I have spent close to $3500.00 on lighting, equipment and accessories...... WOW!!!! But I am enjoying it and I believe my photography skills are starting to improve. There is still so much I want to learn about light and composition. Photography to me has two main parts, skill and creativness. I believe the skill can be learned via teachings, practice and by doing. Creativness on the other hand, I think is something you are born with. You have it or you don't. Unfortunately I fall under the don't :) But I'll keep pluging away and with any luck I will absorb some from all of the great photographers on DP.
