Got my first P&S digital to take event pix for a website I maintained. Quickly decided I needed something better and got one with a nice 10x optical zoom. Much better, but still had shutter lag and so ... got the digital SLR. Then got a better one. And some nice, new lenses. Still have a wish list of equipment, but who doesn't?
Have decided there is nothing more fun than being paid for doing something you enjoy!
There will always be a lot of animal pictures in my portfolio simply because they fascinate me. Plus, I live with quite a few, and used to take pix every week for my local animal shelter, so they are naturally my most-photographed subject. I'm also big on flowers, weeds, bugs, and wildlife of all kinds.
Joined DPC to learn and grow as a photographer. I am enjoying the challenges because they have mostly goaded me to take pictures I wouldn't ordinarily take. And think about why I do or don't like a picture when I comment on it. I have taken some beautiful pictures and some silly ones, some that have scored well and some that have not, but I have learned a LOT since I joined and met some delightful people along the way. I'm glad I stayed.
