My first goal was to bring my score average up to a 6 or higher. I now realize that for a beginner, that is a lofty goal. At the moment what I need most is to experiment with technique, creativity and processing. Sometimes that means that I enter a photo that the DPC voters just don't like. But, as long as I like it or accomplished the effect I was after, the score isn't so important. What I value most at this time are comments that tell me what I did right and wrong and especially those that tell me what I could have done to make it better.
But for the next five (or more) weeks, I'll be part of a league team. So during that time, votes do matter. Why join a team if votes are not what is most important to me? I joined because I think it is a good way to form friendships and find mentors who can help me to improve. I anticipate that my teammates will give me far more detailed critiques and advice than I'll ever get through a challenge alone.
So my goals for the duration of WPL3:
Have every photo score over 5.000.
Enter at least one challenge a week.
Have my average score during the league be greater than 5.25.
Score at least one 6.000 or better. |
