I've been taking "snapshots" for years, and did some photojounalism in high school and college, but I've never had the equipment, time, or space to get into artistic photography with film. I've always wanted to, and DP might be what I need to be able to let my "artsy" side out.
***UPDATE***
My wife, who is altogether too kind, suprised me with a D70. So I guess it's time to make some decent use of it.
***UPDATED UPDATE***
Perhaps I'm setting my goals too low, or perhaps I've actually got some skill at this... either way, thanks to everyone who has appreciated my photography so far. Now... for some new goals!
Current Goals:
Score in the top 30% of a challenge. My Pride entry scored 92%. So much for that goal. Let's shoot for 95% now.
Score above a 5.5 in a challenge. - Goal Met Beverages Challenge
New Goal - Score above a 5.8 That pesky Pride picture again.
So now I'm shooting for scoring over a 6.2
1 Favorite Photo (This will probably take a while). Or maybe it won't... Both Pride (again!) and Beverages
New goal - One photo selected by five different people as a favorite.
Learn from all the experienced artists on this site. This I won't achieve for a while still. :) |
