Photography has captured my attention in a way that other hobbies never could. I've never had any formal training in it, as you can probably tell from my work, but it does give me a personal sense of meaning. Yes, I realize, a personal sense of meaning and 50 cents will put a down payment on a Starbucks coffee. After doing the film thing for years, with only a massive shoebox of lonely negatives to show for it, I scrimped and saved and sold blood to buy my first digital camera a few months ago. Since then, I think I have improved more than I ever did as a film photographer. Oh, and while I realize I'm devastatingly handsome - I'm here to learn, everybody, not to make out with people. |
