Due to health problems (now sorted) I have had a long break from DPchallenge and photography) - the rest of my profile remains the same. First studied photography in college 30 yrs ago...seems like 5 minutes. Spent many hours in the darkroom processing b/w & colour. My favourite though was always ektachrome. Can still remember the very first slide film I processed. It was like magic. Have unfortunatly had 25 years worth of work stolen except for 1folder of negatives. Spent quite a lot of time taking product shots of computer equipment in the early days of "Commodore" and 9 pin dot matrix printers. Have now gone 100% digital and wild horses would not drag me back into a darkroom. Have never worked full time as photographer (from choice). It has always been the 2nd string to my bow. This has been my choice. It has enabled me to take the pictures I have wanted to rather than what I have had to. That is probably why I am still as keen 30 years on.
Im my earlier days when writing and taking photographs for various publications, I judged a considerable number of competitions (more than I have ever entered. I hope now that I will be able to turn the tables and enter more than I judge! |
