Raised on a wheat farm in western Nebraska.
Became a pilot at 16. Went on in my career to work for a Fortune 100 company flying a small business jet. Lost my medical in mid 90's and had to quite flying. (I have had 25 orthopedic surgeries, 9 back and the rest for a club foot)
Have taken pictures since a freshman in high school, starting with a Pentax SP100. I have just taken an interest in macro photography, and am anxious to learn more about it here at dpc. I also am in process of buying a house, with a large insulated garage, where I can finally have a studio!
Have become more focused in making an income from this for the last four years.( I just recently joined Canon's CPS program, which I highly recommend if you have Canon gear.) I have been updating some of my gear, such as replacing two 430EX's with the EXii's, to go with my 580EXii, and getting a couple of pocket wizards to use when the IR isn't sufficient. I have some simple reflectors to attach to the flashes for the portrait work. (Having to start on a pretty tight budget.
I was divorced 12 years ago. I have 3 children, and 4 grandchildren. They are the ones I love to take pictures of, but they are 700 miles away.
My best friend is Jesus Christ. He has brought me through so much. I believe when you really experience Him in your life, it is impossible to deny who He is.
