Sep, 2010: My camera experience has been limited to point and shoot, low end units and the camera on my cell phone. My friend, Derek Ralston, exposed me to the art of photography and I am more than intrigued.
Dec, 2016: I posted the above as my original profile when I first found and joined DPC, which was shortly after I discovered this art. I really thought that my friend Derek was a huge name in photography and people here and anywhere would recognize him and that would give me some sort of credibility. 6 years later, I have learned that the photographer's family is so much bigger . . . I have been away for the last few years, learning and shooting, editing and crafting. I am still learning and still loving making and sharing images. I enjoyed the time I spent here before and look forward to getting back -
Dec, 2017: I spent the Spring and Summer of 2015 learning film photography. I found a willing mentor who had about 60 years of shooting experience and only shot film. He learned the art from his father and still shoots his fathers cameras. He doesn’t have a digital camera or even a computer.... but he’s got the greatest darkroom in the world. Learning this aspect of the art blew my photography universe wide open. I love this art! |
