2011, New year, some new things, some old!
I always liked taking pictures, but one day about 8 years ago I got an old chinon CM-4 with a couple lenses from a thrift store. I didn't know a darn thing about it, and just started messing around. I still have the camera, also got a canon A-1 and then this 350D and I still use them all. I really love to shoot live shows at bars and small venues, and once even got to be a press photographer for Skinny Puppy at the Norva in Norfolk, VA! That was a fiasco, though, but I learned a lot and it seems that I always learn more from my failures than my success. I joined DPC to learn a bit and hopefully get some good advice.
Goals:
I've seen a few folks who post "beat personal best," and that is certainly what it is all about: improving one's self, not comparing one's self to another. I think I'll jump on that bandwagon.
I have no aspirations to ribbon, my tastes are a little out there and my technique is not particularly polished. In other words, I realize that my style does not appeal to the mainstream much and I'm very fine with that :)
