Wow, I had estimated this for a high five, so it totally surprised me that it stayed over a 7 for most of the challenge! I guess DPC has trained me to only look at the flaws and imperfections in my images.
Got a cycling shot in my top 5, a ribbon, and a new highest rated for the Canon G11. Not a bad week at all!
Thanks for all the great comments!

How did you do it??
Put the G11 in macro mode, leaned over and took a blind shot. Actually, a lot of blind shots, reviewing my framing every 3 or 4 takes. Did enough variations that I got one with all the right angles that looked like the bike was moving.
First attempt of this scene, taken in a different location with different cycling shoes 2 days earlier:

Congratulations, Steve. I think you chose the right one, although the other is good too. I like the angle of the wheel here. It imparts a sense of dynamic movement.
grog shoes not skin and mud, grog not ride sabre tooth pussy cat like rest of tribe, grog not funny shaped thing behind grogs fancy shoe, GI think grog do well, GI beat chest at grog say big man, with girly yellow ribbon ;)
Why are you using mountain bike shoes on a road bike?
Because I like being able to walk. I prefer the type like these that are more roadish, but have some decent tread on the bottoms. The ones with laces in my outtake are MTB shoes that I wear when I am leaving to go riding from work, because I can walk down the stairs and drive my truck with them on.
Really thrilled to see this ribbon Steve! A fantastic shot! This reminds me of my attempts at the motion blur challenge with my bike. Not so easy, is it!
No way should you have thought this a high five image Steve! Love the perspective and especially the leaning wheel. The city behind is a very nice touch. Congrats on your ribbon!
Go,,, Yo!
Grand image with a nice little camera, and including your bike too. It's not every day that you get to have your true loves meet and be happy together. : )
This ain't Dallas!! Hey this is really really nice!!! love the comp and the dof really draws intrest beyond the shoe, makes me wonder where this person is going, how long they've been going, how come the shoe is muddy.. Pretty Sweet pix to make me think that long about what I see!!
And my First 10 to you.... also duhh this was a basic, so even more intrestring!
Top pick for the creativity of the image. Most of the other pics seem "static" and you've made this an action pic. POV is cool, along with the lean of the bike. Hope this does well.
I like the composition, detail in the sky with out blocking out the shadows and blacks. The water on the cranks is a nice bit of detail. It looks like there are a lot of miles on those shoes too, I just got back from a ride too.
