Never thought this would get an HM so that you all very much. I think maybe the quick voters missed the idea behind this or perhaps I just didn't convey it strongly enough. It wasn't meant to be humorous but I can see where it could be taken that way. I tend to have a fondness for using theatrical blood in photos but then I convert them to black and white, it fascinates me for some reason and I prefer the subtlety of it compared to being in your face. If you look closely you can see the blood on the roses(I attempted to buy dead ones but the guy looked at me strangely, lol oh well I have become use to that) and see it running down my hand. I also smeared a bit over my heart. The blood is symbolic of the pain of love. My bleeding heart for the overall pain and the bleeding roses for the pain during this holiday. I am not against love, I love my children very dearly so it isn't that I hate love. The sentiment was more that the power of Love comes from loves ability to wound, hurt and sometimes kill. Without the darkside of it Love would not be as powerful as it is. So this was what went through my mind as I created this image. Now lets hope it gets validated, been a long time since I have had to send an image in and I had to try and remember all that I did to it. Thanks again for the votes and comments.

REALLY interesting how many takes you got on this! I went with my gut (heart) reaction....but I guess I could find it funny too..... I didn't even notice your tats until now....... so what WERE you going for.....sentiment or humour?
One thing for sure....you are a good actor!
I gave this a "10" because it is a compelling image. I don't think it meets the challenge and it's a bit terrifying. But, it's the best photograph in this challenge.
