Loved the shot during voting Bear, and now I know the story behind it I like it all the more.
Post actions
Yes, quite a stunning piece of art, the combination of ski tracks with the perpendicular trees and their shadow is breathtaking. A wonderful tribute, congratulations.
Post actions
Bravo! So glad this made it into the ribbons. Wonderful composition, the verticals and horizontals so powerful. The tiny lone skier in the immensity of nature. Even in the saddest of moments there is beauty to be seen.
Post actions
Awesome shot. Love it. Inspiring actually.

Oh! I rarely look at challenges I haven't entered/voted. So when something good happens I often miss it. This is something good! It's a very fine picture indeed. I'd have given you a big score and a gushing comment, Robert. It's such an unusual, clever photograph, and quite beautiful. Other-worldly, in a quiet way. A great thing to remember this special moment by. Thank you.

Holy cow, Robert! I am looking at this from my iPad since I am away from my computer and those shadows make this shot look amazing. What a vantage point on the skier too! Congrats!

Nicely done, Robt. Thought it was a quite spectacular image, and well-deserving of a ribbon. Not an image I'd have expected from you though -- I'm quite surprised!
Post actions
Looks like that skier is smart enough to stay out of the trees! Well done Robert, I was ahead of you before roll over and then I lost 3/10 of a point as the votes got scrubbed putting you ahead by that little bit. Congrats on a very well done shot.

Congratulations,wonderful shot.

This got a 9 from me. Those lines! What an image! Great result. Tough not to do better with a score like that, but front page material for sure. Love this.

Well done Robert. A fantastic image and a fitting memorial, and tribute.
Post actions
Absolutely fantastic. And you took it on the spur of the moment!

So much to learn from this triptych of horizontal, vertical and curved. Congrats on the ribbon, it just adds our appreciation to what is already there - a wonderful memory.

What an amazing capture. I could look at this for hours and find something new within the snow, trees, or the long cast shadows. You seem to capture this in perfect timing with the skier and the sun. This is a wall hanger! Great photograph.
Post actions
Hmmm. Didn't I call it about the basketball player? This shot, though, is awesome.

Congrats, Robert! Serendipitous.

Wow. Of course the tree cutting the shot in half sorta bothers me, but other than that, this shot is amazing.
Post actions
This is very cool. Nicely done!
Post actions
Can not say just how beautiful this is. Such lovely composition, and love all the detail in the shadows of the trees. Wish there was slightly more contrast (but that's minor). A stunner of an image -- one of my very rare 9's.
Post actions
Well this is nice for sure.
Post actions
That's really nice. The POV, the mass of trees, the shadow leading to; and suddenly the small isolated skier. Great PP too. Top marks.

Post actions
beautiful picture! absolutely love it...
Post actions
The composition bothers me a bit...a little crop of the wood would give a better impact...imho 8.
Post actions
Beautiful - wish I was there! Love the contrast between the trees and the slope.
Post actions
Beautiful photo. Great B&W choice. Perpendicular lines make for a great design in its own right. Sweet photo.
Post actions
Awesome image. From the thumb I wasn't too excited, but the full size is perfect. Can't think of any ways to improve it.
