Challenge: Best of 2011 (Advanced Editing VII)
Camera: Canon EOS-600D/T3 Rebel
Lens: Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 USM
Location: Lexington, MA
Date: Dec 17, 2011
Aperture: 5.6
ISO: 3200
Shutter: 1/15
Date Uploaded: Jan 29, 2012

It was slim pickins for this challenge, since I bought my DSLR in December of 2011, leaving me about three weeks worth of photos to choose from.

I chose this one because the folks on Flickr seem to like the shallow DOF, colors and composition. I hope people here like it, too.

Great shot - good enough to be on the box. Nice use of shallow DOF.

I love model trains! (not to mention the real thing too) How unusual to see it here on DPC. WD for entering. Whilst I enjoy this close-up a more representational shot of the engine, cars, rails and it's surroundings would fare better.
