I have a dog that looks exactly like your white one, and this looks just like a night at my house. No matter what you're trying to do, his head is plopped down in the middle of it. Wonderful image :) Good luck to you!
I like how the dog is drooped on the book. I think this photo would've been more effective if only the dog, the book, and the hand with pencil were in the frame, and taken from a top down angle.
