Auuuuugh... every time I see this photo, I'm filled with so many emotions: awe, wanting to know more of her story... an only a teeny tiny bit of envy. What art!

She's not sure she likes me - a very appraising look. Love the detail in her face and hands and shawl.

She has stories to tell I am sure of. Hope she is safe and happy. This image gives me an emotional response, which is always good.

Portrait of the year. No doubt. Congrats!

I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.

great portrait. the lines on her face tell a lifetime of experiences one can only imagine.

So much character. Great portrait!

Such an awesome capture Lev, hope she scores well for you.

I'm certain that I will not eat the apple in that bag. Well done.
Post actions
Good detail, looks good in B&W. Looks like she wasn't too impressed getting her picture taken.
Post actions
Another front pager I suspect, great stuff.
Post actions
She looks none too happy that you took this picture. Hopefully she didn't cast a spell on you!

A beautifully captured shot. I love the deep texture. My red ribbon selection.

Great portrait. Looks like sunglasses in her hair?
Post actions
Awesome photo, the detail is amazing,
Post actions
Well, Let's hope she didn't put a curse on you! bumped to a 9.
Post actions
She's not just a wee bit menacing! I'll bet she's really nice, though. Wonderful textures!
Post actions
Wonderful character in her face, but that stare makes the shot. Great capture, Lev.
Post actions
Detail to match the character. Nice stuff.
Post actions
well, the subject carries this obviously. but super job of processing and barely off-center composition. gl. 9.
Post actions
Lev, this will surely finish near the top. It is such an exceptional image.
Post actions
Superb portrait & excellent B7W processing ! Compliments 10!

Excellent detail and great b&w processing.
Post actions
Super example of this type of image, hope it goes high.
Post actions
wonderful B&W portrait, there are many stories, I'm sure, in that face
Post actions
Wonderful image Lev. So many different textures, and they complement rather than compete. Great light and tones. Expect to see this in top 10.
Post actions
Too over-processed, hang back a bit a this would be great!
Post actions
Sorceress? I doubt it. She probably raised a raft of (Mexican) kids.
Post actions
Written on her face
Post actions
great portrait. b + w works just perfect
Post actions
Despite the fabulous tones created by the B&W contrast and the "look" you captured, any one of this age generally has a pair of glasses on too, making the shot impossible to get. Great vision and timing.
Post actions
fantastic details. really captured personality with this one.
Post actions
I love portraits, especially b&w. This is outstanding
