I think that when I go to the beach, one of my fave things to see is the light bouncing off of the water like this. I believe that many of us think of diamonds when we see it. The tilt didn't work for me, I liked the vignette, and of course, the diamonds are beautiful!
Joe, unfortunately, for me at least, the tilted horizon didn't add anything to this shot at all. I have no problem with tilted horizons if they enhance the image but for me it didn't quite cut it. Pity as I loved the colours
rule #12, a tilted horizon is always distracting ;)
rule #12a. unless the tilted horizon is used to get the desired effect. note how carla is standing upright. a straight horizon would be tilted carla. i like what the tilted horizon added here. so SUCK IT
(dbear is my brother in law whom i can tell to SUCK IT freely)
while tilted horizons drive my bonkers - it almost works with the tilt of the beach - but the focal point seems to be the waves in the foreground - the least interesting part of the image to me...
the sea is so off horizontal that I can only assume its deliberate, nice highlights though I suspect a smaller aperture would have brought the diamonds out even more
