This is photogracphically splendid- all the high key soft tones. Far be it from me to comment on a shot's relative placement, but, it was the most emotive of all the shots, and probably could not do any better because it relied not on photography, as splendid as it was, yet on a handwritten note to tell the story. I like to think that I have enough literary savvy to recognize that the note is in fact part of the story, but, in a challenge where cartoon strip style editing is allowed, well, congrats on the top ten anyway. sorry for the long ramble.
Awhh .... I like the concept and the composition of your photograph, as well as the monochromatic execution. I feel that perhaps there is a bit too much light (especially on the pillow area) and just darkening it a tad may have been better.
focus seems slighlty off on the bear, his left(as you look)sleve is in but other bit seems a bit off, maybe a sharpen on the bear would make his fur sing out a bit more. nice tone and id have liked to have seen the badge a bit clearer. wonder if it would have worked better with the bear holding the note so it was square on.
