It seems I haven't had a truly bucolic hit since Breugel. Much pleasure from this, especially from the tilt of the centre front shepherd.

Congratulations on the blue. This shot really meets the challenge well and appeals visually too - excellent entry.

I'm so late getting around to the congrats. Please forgive me, I didn't vote on this one but this is an excellent image and as usually worthy of the ribbon. :)

It's not Jean Giono's countryside but he would have adored your pics also. Timeless and primordial. You are the true bard of Lot! Waiting for your pictures with much anticipation.

This is such a wonderfully rendered image, and I would have saved your "at the last count" for the Free Study. Such an amazing pair of images. But, I suspect you will have something equally stunning for the FS. Please stop making it look so easy. Congrats on yet another blue this month, and thanks for the many lessons I have taken from you in 2011.

Oh goodness! How awesome to share the podium with you!!! I adore this image. Congrats on the blue

I knew it was yours, your B/W are always amazing. For my eyes this scene is not really uncommon (as it could be for many American people here). I live in a region famous for the transumanza , the act of going from a very far place to another with the sheep and you can still see in the mountains some shepherds. This doesn't change the fact that this picture is absolutely wonderful John!

This is just wonderful... herd and herders at equal pace. There's a lovely tranquility about this.

Really great photography. Love the b&w. I hate the black fill-in border top and bottom, but still gave you the top score on this. Hope it ribbons.

cinematic as always, beautiful moment and tones

My choice for the blue. It's a cool mix of interesting, cute and picturesque; a nice quiet farm road, the boys going about their business, the cute as Hell little lambies and all looks great in crisp b&w. Good job. :-)

I love the BW... and the feel of the image... I just wish that there were only ONE shepherd and the sheep. It would have been much more intimate. *sigh* 7

What an idyllic image, John. Who cares if there's more than one "shepherd"...
