Wow! I LOVE this photo! Love it!

Glad this made it into the top 5. I loved this shot for it captures the falling snow and the feel of chill effectively. The scene gave us a slice of the life of an oysterman - he trudges back from a day of work. Perhaps he caught some and perhaps he caught none. We cannot tell. What we can feel from this shot is the day was long (hunched shoulders) and the cold is so palpable that it is piercing.

Hats off to you for standing out there in this sort of weather! Not much fun I'll wager. Proves that you can make good images even when it's grey and miserable outside. Congrats on the top 5, this is lovely.

This is a well deserved HM! This was the only other image I felt was a 10, and it just speaks volumes. Well captured and composed, and it's really no surprise it's you Bear!

Great photo. Massive story, yet silent. Beautiful.

Fantastic entry! Nice job capturing the eery gray in the sky. I feel that a slight crop of the left side would help bring out the man.

I like how this turned out. Might be as good in full B&W

ohh love the stark gritty cold feel of this, his trudging head down away from his task in defeat or sheltering from the weather? the bleakness and solitude, maybe a little grainy but i like it.

Really just incredible. 10.

In spite of the marvelous snow flakes, you rendered so well the drabness and drudgery of the man's daily life.

Very nicely done. His body language says a lot, especially in this weather.

Bear, this just might be your most eloquent image yet.
