Challenge:Neon (Basic Editing I) Camera:Canon PowerShot S50 Location: Living room coffee table, my house Date: Aug 17, 2004 Aperture: 5.0 ISO: 50 Shutter: 15 sec Date Uploaded: Aug 17, 2004
A bunch of M&M's (now, sadly eaten) on a bunch of black t-shirts. I held a long exposure, focused on the lead M&M's, to heighten the color. I used the tv (watching the Olympics) for light.

this shot has a lot of potential. i love the idea and will score you on the effort. if you don't mind, let me take a moment to pick this a part. the composition is fine. the dof is too short and the focus is too soft. the surface and background should be smooth. you want people to be impacted by the image, not distracted by unnecessary details. it was good to use a side light, but it was a little too strong (hence the hotspots and the shadows). all the same, this is a great effort for a tough challenge!
i LOVE it!!! :) but why didn't you make the colors brighter? on my monitor, at least, they are not as neon-y as they could be. but the dynamic, the open composition, even the light, the subtle shadows... amazing! these m&ms rock :)
