While waiting in a thunderstorm to play "Taps" at Arlington Cemetery earlier, I watched a woman & 3 small kids walk with an umbrella & picnic basket thru the active duty graves. They stopped at a grave marker, spread a blanket & sat down to have lunch with their deceased loved one. Not even the nasty storm & its incredible pouring rain were going to stand the way for them today. Beautiful!
I just finished playing "Taps" in Arlington at which there were 2 sets of remains. The folded flag was presented to a boy who might have been the ripe old age of 4. Very sad. When you think of the problems you have today, remember that somewhere there's a little boy who just buried his parents with honors.
