There is just something about the texture and the mood of this composition. The autumn leaves have gathered into this barren but seemingly cozy shelter of from the elements. The closed off walls offer shelter not just to the plantlife clinging to the walls, but the fallen folliage, and the cat who is curled up near the fallen leaves as if it is a blanket.
This is lovely. Great tonal range and lines. My eye is drawn in to the picture beautifully. I fluctuate on whether I think the cat adds or detracts (the white in the cat's coat being the brightest spot in the image, grabs my eye). The leaves seem a bit unsharp/out of focus, but provide the desired effect none the less.
