Very interesting close up of a new born sunflower! The detail is outstanding, you can almost see the pedals burst open in front of you!

Very nice focus - is it perhaps too tightly cropped? I like the closed secretive look of the center petals and I like the way the smooth ribbed yellow petals contrast in texture with the skkikey outer leaves., Just the composition that is lacking a punch. Wonder if the image were square whether the dead center position might work better? 7

WOW! What a beautiful image. The lighting on this is so superior to most of what I've seen so far. It gives a truly 3 dimensional look to the image. The focus is dead on and the DOF is fantastic -- just shallow enough to blur the background, just deep enough to get the flower and its spikey leaves. This will certainly finish among the top 10.

when your talking about quality of light / photographe etc nto many stand out - but this in my terms is great and what i want to see more of! Great use of DOF and superb focusing.
