Wow! A blue in a free study - it's a DPC dream come true! If you could see the silly grin on my face right now!
------------
My local camera club had a mono competition a couple of months ago and that got me into black and white processing. The influence of that has featured quite a bit in my recent entries here.
Also, I would be lying if I said I hadn't drawn some influence from jagar's terrific black & white portfolio.

Congratulations on the blue ribbon. This is just lovely. The sweeping lines, with one strong vertical element, the dramatic sky, and the foreground detail all remind me of a JMW Turner print.
Love this image. Has a timeless feel to it. Pretty amazing how awesome the sky is and just adds to the flow of the shot. Congrats on this fine capture getting the blue.
Sometimes we wonder how something can actually grow and survive on land like this. As far as we can see here, there's not one single other tree. And the one present, frankly, is not the most solid one either. But oh boy, he is making the view there.
Ahhhhh...this image absolutely speaks to me. Just love the details and textures and tones in this. Such a simple composition, but so powerful! Beautiful!
