I took this last Sunday at the Des Moine capitol building. It was the ten year anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. There was one flag for each person that died. It was a short stop on an emotional drive for me. My mom had passed away the night before and I was on my way from Chicago to Kansas City to get to my dad's. It is not a great photo, but the little boy holding his mom's finger while looking out over the flags hit me pretty hard emotionally.
But it *is* a great photo. Very powerful; excellent composition in many ways and a very fine B&W conversion. So sorry to hear about your Mom. But this is a great memorial to the day.
