I was a little confused by the challenge topic (it made more sense to me as an advanced editing challenge)... so I tried to make this look as real as possible while fully using the expert editing rule set.
I used 3 photos to create this, the body and window (yes I stuck my feet out), the curtain blowing using a fan, and used the arms from another photo. My feet could have been higher up like I was really flying in but I think that’s what made it look a little more “real”. Yes, I removed the chair I was balancing on (and fell once LOL). All three shot had the same light for consistency, window light + flash bounced off the ceiling ;)
I wish I would have had more time to work on this, only worked on it for a couple of hours including set up, the most difficult part was that it’s a self portrait, and I don’t have a remote, so I had to run back and forth, try to balance on a swivel chair, and attempt to pose like I was flying in 10seconds!

So hard to tell... the right pants leg at toward the bottom looks funky like it might be fake, but the left pant leg, where it touches the window sill makes it look real. Gonna guess real... looks dangerous!
Nicely done. Very ethereal. I'm assuming this is real although certain aspects of the processing are catching my eye, mainly your right hand... If I could figure out exactly what was making me curious about it, I'd probably figure out that it was nothing. :-D
I'm wondering if this is just your processing style. Some kind of noise reduction or something making me think too hard.
Still, nice image and we'll probably see this at the top!
While I know you are very good at staging this type of optical illusion, i'm guessing you did this one digitally, because it looks like you removed whatever you used to support yourself. BTW, I love the curtain and the sepia tone.
