This is out one of my favorite windows, my car window. I happened upon this spot by accident, and barely spotted these cranes (they are about100 meters away) as I was driving by. Threw the car in reverse, attached the telephoto lens, and took some shots expecting them to fly away. But they actually stood there as I got out of the car with the wide lens and grabbed some landscape shots. Normally sandhill cranes fly with little movement, so I was surprised to see them stick around.
My canon picture mode was set to a custom landscape with high contrast, high sharpness, and medium high saturation.

Note that I really really really wish this were at least basic editing. There were a number of shots which I liked better but needed a bit of pop to get right.
