I do like the idea, and overall, the execution is pretty sound. May I suggest the following two points:
1) Ensure that the blue pencil doesn't encroach on the right side of the image. A photo like this scream that it needs symmetry, and that slight misplacement really hurts
2) Again with the symmetry, the shadows in this photo nearly eliminate that, so I would suggest another light coming from the left.

Really great idea, but it's killing me that it's almost but not quite symmetrical, and that the points don't meet exactly over the line where the background colors meet. A bit OCD of me? Perhaps.
