July turned out to be a pretty decent photo month after starting a bit slow. I actually have another photo which I like better than this one a bit, but I entered a very similar scene at the end of the month, so I didn't want to overload people with it. I will save it for the Best of 2011 challenge.
I happened upon this particular scene one Saturday morning while out shooting. The light was terrible, but I took some frames anyhow with the intention to return later in the month. The next evening it was calm and there were some clouds in the sky, so I trekked down there and took some more shots. Unfortunately I didn't get the angle I really wanted due to people and light direction. So the next evening I returned again to find no people and the light just the way I was hoping for. That's when I got this particular photo.
