My son in the hospital recovering from an emergency appendectomy. It was my turn spending the night in hospital with him as my wife and traded nights.
It was very hard to sleep with all the traffic in and out of the room to check vitals, meds, etc. This was taken around midnight. The backlight that looks like window light is a florescent light.
I used 3 exposures to get details in the LCD.
He's doing fine now. He was released from the hospital 2 days after this photo. He was hospitalized for a week due to the infection level of the appendix. Pretty scary for all involved.

My child just too, had an emergency appendectomy (last week) with a hospital stay of 6 days. Your picture caught my eye and drew me in. Great details with such low light. Nicely done.
Your photo really drew me in on the emotional level. I thought the glow on his face was quite heavenly. I'm sorry that this is your own child but I am glad to see he is doing well now. Thanks for sharing this story.
Not your everyday entry, for sure. The image is good. Tells a story. The title makes me think the situation isn't dire (hope not), and the balloon lightens the mood.
wow. not a fan of exploitive genre, whether it be the homeless with a cup outreached or this. I wish this little lady all the best and the family that has to deal with it every day. best of luck.
