Baby Hummingbirds about the size of peanuts. I've been trying to get a shot of their Momma at feeding time but she's smarter than me. She has avoided all attempts at being captured for posterity (or DPC) and I think she can read my mind from a fair distance. I even put my camera at risk on top of a tall ladder and purchased a radio controlled remote, but the instant the autofocus would start buzzing she was off. So then I tried manual focus, but the photos just didn't have the focus a good photo needs. So rather than upset her in any more ways, I waited until I missed another great shot of her feeding them and settled on taking photos of her beautiful babies (while Momma was off hunting insects...yum). They are indeed showing pin feathers and will probably fledge by next week so my photo time with them is getting very short.
converted from raw, a little dodge and burn, some sharpening, noise reduction, resize and save for DPC.
