It's aways nice when there is color in the moon. Adds a little extra flare.
Obvious tripod use: Medium. I'm sure you used a tripod for this, but I also know that it's totally possible to shoot this without a a tripod. With a full moon at f/5.6 your shutter speed could be as high as 1/200 (I'm even thinking low iso) which is definitely hand holdable.
