Lots of wasted effort with flashes - I do need to get a new set of wireless triggers (since only one receiver works in the current set, so I end up doing optical flash sync).
Key lessons learnt:
+ Need a large area / wall / paper which I could use for most pictures as background.
+ Flash lighting the background should be on lesser power.
+ Prevent background flash from filling / mixing with fill / foreground flash
