 I swear Langdon is following me on flickr and picking challenges based on places I have just been or things I have just done. The last couple of weeks have seen challenges that are very related to my recent photo outings. This week is no different. The day before this challenge was announced, I spent a bunch of time at Tenney Park. This park has a cool bridge that I tied to grab some photo of, but the late morning sun was horrendous for the shot. I knew that an evening sun photo would work out nicer, so I filed that idea away for another day.

Lo and behold, this challenge arrives. I knew exactly what I wanted to shoot, it just became a matter of timing when the sun would actually be out in the evening (a lot of rain forecasted for this week). I got lucky one hot and muggy night to be able to head over to the park after dinner (it's about half an hour away, so I really needed to have good timing). I arrived, setup, and only had to wait for about 10 minutes for the sun to be in the area that I wanted it. Unfortunately, with the muggy weather came a very heavy haze over the sun, so the normal long shadows you see have been replaced with a softer/cooler light. I grabbed a number of photos, and spend another 30 minutes walking around the park taking other photos on such a fine day.

Post Processing:
* White Balance and chromatic aberration on 4 photos
* Combine with Nik HDR Efex Pro
* More white balance
* Increase exposure
* Increase recovery
* Increase black point
* Increase brightness
* Increase contrast
* Increase saturation with barely higher vibrancy
* Color adjustments to bring out the blues and yellows
* Orange overlay at 30% to give the scene a more golden feel (remember, the hazy sun created a much cooler light than normally seen at this time).
** Painted out the overlay from the sky
* Burn a little bit of the sky along the top of the trees to reduce some slight haloing
* Vignette (mainly too add some extra contrast to the scene)
* Export as TIFF
* Resize
* Sharpen Edges
* Save as JPEG
