Took about 100 shots and got a few OK ones...This one is a swallowtail butterfly on a butterfly bush overhanging our pool.
Editing steps include:
Adjusted levels
Filtered with Neat Image to remove some noise
Unsharp mask
Increased Saturation
Used blur tool on blue background to smooth out some extra noise
Cropped and resized

very nice photo....I love the colors, and the blurred foreground of flowers. I really like the compostion too.....This is my favorite photo thus far....a 10 from me
Outstanding! I like the 3 zones of the photo: Wings; Background; and flowers. Comp is good. DOF is terrific! Colors (except the bug) make my teeth hurt a bit. Maybe just a bit oversaturated.
I am no expert on butterflies but it looks a bit unnatural, feeding while not having landed on the flower (it won't influence my voting). I think the composition is a bit off, too far to the left, and the colors are extremely strong. But a good sharp image and good use of depth of field.
