I've been meaning to photograph this historic Catholic church for years. We had a break in the clouds at the tail end of a very nasty stretch of unpleasant weather, and I was in the little town where this church is, having dropped off my daughter at a 4-H event, and thought I'd swing up the hill and get a few shots before I headed off to the next place I had to be. This picture isn't perfect, and I'm sure I'll get knocked around a bit (I predict at least 50% of comments will complain that the front of the chapel is 'blown out', but hey, a white object in the sun is a white object in the sun), but I like it and I wanted to enter it. I haven't entered a challenge in a really long time.
This has some layer action going on... a duplicate layer in multiply mode, and then another one, desaturated on multiply with a gradient mask applied. Some levels and I think that was about it.
