Last minute change in plans. Sun was going down so I experimented with hand-holding an off-camera flash. Lighting turned out "ok". Had something else entered but chickened out and pulled it. I'll show it later. :-)

Sorry this doesn't seem Westony to me at all. Maybe I just don't see your vision or know Weston enough. I like the shot a lot, but the subject, cropping, deepness of the blacks (or not), abstractiness, and obsession with form all seem to miss the Weston style.
I love that you used a flower on wood, yet didn't exactly copy Weston's most famous image of a flower on wood. This is simple, yet beautiful. I still would have liked to see more detail and a bit more localized tonality in the wood.
