I don't think it's a boring shot. It's a really nice composition. However, the noise does work against it. It makes the insect look pixelated. This would be fantastic as a really crisp b/w. :-)

Nicely composed image. Desaturating it hurts the overall effect I think. Lighting feels a little flat.

I assume the grain is ment to be there. Not sure if it works or not. Somewhat distracting to me. Great subject & cropping though.
