I felt guilty taking this shot of a Golden Orb Spider stalking the Grass Hopper as I threw it in the web (not my style). However, the Grass Hopper must have been considered to much of a meal and the spider cut the web away and released it. So I can honestly say no creatures were hurt in the making of this image :-)
Anyone paying close attention will see that female spider trophey thread is defying gravity. I took this from below the spider and have rotated the image 90deg counter clockwise as I believe it feels more confortable that way.
Besides the obvious reason, the choice of title is from the Rocky Horror Picture Show's song Time Warp. My title is in the song but the dance has a section that looks like the move the spider's making. I'm sure noone will see this but me but it goes to show that I do spend too much time working on my titles.
The background was a bright orange wall that I have used in the past for bug shots but I felt it was too distracting so I desat it out a fair bit. I've also centred the subject, which is a bit of a phase I'm going through (though it's more likely the shots lend themselves more to it). I don't expect this to do well in a FS but I've taken enough bird shots lately and this is more what I like. So I'm guessing 4.9xxx for this. |
