I sat for an hour waiting for this crane to take off with the camera on the trypod, so I went hand held down towards the setting with the camera to the eye continually reseting focus as I walked, then off he took this is the 3rd frame hand held.

Such interesting light on the bird. If it wasn't basic editing, I would have thought you had tinkered around with the exposure on the bird to get this eerie effect.
The shot is far too dark. The highlights on the palm on the right jump out as much or more than the subject and really detracts from the overall texture and feel of the photo.
