Hi everyone.. it’s SO nice to be back.
As some of you know, I’ve been going through some very unpleasant health issues these past six months (well, I suppose health issues are never pleasant ;-)
Sometimes I felt so ill, I couldn’t get up enough energy to pick up my camera. This challenge entry is the first image I’ve taken since October 2010…
I had surgery a week and a half ago and, as I’m signed off work for a couple of weeks, I finally “pushed” myself into entering this challenge (as a sort of challenge to myself).
The challenge title sounded nice and uncomplicated but I found it incredibly difficult coming up with something I was really pleased with (what’s new.. ;-)
Anyway, I’ll be trying to enter on a regular basis, I’ve missed you all a lot and it’s given me such a push reading the comments welcoming me back as well as the constructive criticism.
Thanks so much for the wonderful score, you’ve really made my week.

BIG thanks for the ribbon!

Irene! This is so beautiful! So "Irene". I have been so busy and have had to be sporadic about challenges myself, but I did notice that I wasn't seeing you as much and was hoping you were okay. I am so sorry you've had such a hard time with health issues!! But what a treat to be welcomed back with a glorious blue ribbon! I pray every day will find you closer to 100% and we can start seeing those Irene ribbons every week like before :)
Great you are back Irene. I hope you heal and feel better more and more. Congrats on the blue. Love seeing your gorgeous images on the front page again.
so glad you are back Irene...sorry I didn't know you were not well, but I'm delighted you are doing better..you certainly were missed, you and that sweet 60mm f2.8 lens...I will get one some day...then you will have to look out...(ya right, a gal can dream)
Oh, welcome back, Irene. While I am sorry to hear you have had health problems, it sounds as if you are on the road to wellness again. Certainly your photography has not suffered.
This is soooo good, and yes, I was one of the '23'.
Irene, I was so missing your entries! I am so happy that you are back. I really hope you will be able to enter as much as you want in the upcoming challenges.
By the way, that's a fantastic way to come back :-) Congratulations on the blue!
Good to see you back Irene. I hope you are starting to feel better - health issues are rough stuff.
I left a comment during voting and was editing it but somehow it got lost. Anyway, I loved the composition and the colors but I almost wonder if the image is a bit oversharpened around the cap of the bottle.
Missed having you around. Miss your work. You picked up where you left off. You made a very ordinary subject look incredible. Wishing you a speedy recovery and hopefully you will get back to doing what you love doing best soon. Keep clicking!
We missed you too. You made quite a "splash" with your welcome back shot. Wouldn't you know it would be a water drop shot LOL.
Contrats, and hope you get back to feeling great soon.
This is one of 4 very similar submissions in this challenge. After looking at all images, these 4 pictures get jumbled into "deja vu" zone and the merit of each one gets diminished by redundancy. I think that we shall strive for more imaginative solutions here, at DPC. A marked them all with 5.
Looks more like glass, than a water bottle. Maybe vodka? A good shot nonetheless. Maybe a bit oversharpened. Could be compression issue, though. Tie goes to the shooter. 8.
