PS stuff:
Hue/Saturation adjusted for individual channels partly to get rid of a caste and to enhance blue/purple. Increased Contrast and cropped slighty from the right and bottom to fine tune the composition.

I liked this shot. Not my favorite but definatly worth the 8 i gave you. I think this should have scored higher.
The lighting is poor, and I would have gone for a better depth of field. In addtion, the ring is being shot right on the side, making the pic a little flat
Nice job on lightong. The background is a bit distracting. The angle, I can see why but I dodn't know if it would have been better to rotate it so more of the stone was showing.
Good technically competent image. The subject isn't as interesting to me as others have been, but hard to find fault otherwise. Hope you apply your obvious mastery of camera and comp to future challenges.
