What's a girl to do when she's on a trip to bring back a derelict car on a car trailer and the towing car is struggling and needing to stop to cool down every few minutes and the trip is taking hours and hours longer than expected? The men (son and husband) are taking the vitals of towing car and pondering strategy, son's girlfriend is asleep (a good thing) so all that's left for me to do is to take photos through the rain sprinkled window.
Eventually our other son rescued us by coming and taking the trailer and burden so that we were able to proceed home.
Both sons do this kind of stuff all the time - mental note to self, don't go with them!
I first thought these to be fireflies - reminding me of my childhood in Missouri - hot, humid summer nights.... heat lightning... katydids ..... Colorado doesn't have fireflies and I miss them... Then I read your comments and gained a whole new perspective. And then.... read the rest of the comments and gained still another perspective - making this an image to remember... Fantastic!!
Thanks for the story of your (mis)adventure--the comp expresses your lack of options very well, I think. It certainly looks, late & dark & lonely. The little light circles could be fireflies or faeries or tiny UFOs. I can hear crickets.
