This is my shot for the basic editing challenge 'Coffee'. I was trying to show the perfect time for a cup of coffee versus the perfect cup of coffee itself. I don't have any pro lighting equipment yet, but I made a softbox out of an empty beer case and a bedsheet and set it in the camera-right corner of the room, shooting towards the front of the subject on the left. I also made a sort of honeycomb grid out of the bottle dividers to keep it focused on the guy. I also had two reading lamps on either end of the bar, keeping it lit. As this was basic editing, I only took the orange saturation down a bit to take out the over-warmth from the table lamps, and added two black and white adjustment layers. The first layer was in "soft light" blending mode and the opacity knocked down to add a little extra contrast, and the second one was in normal mode and the opacity knocked way down just to desaturate the image a bit.
I feel like this shot had some potential but is missing a few things. Any constructive criticism is sincerely welcome.
