This was taken along the northern front range in Colorado, a few days after a snowstorm. The lake was frozen over displaying fascinating patterns in the ice. I was hoping the sun would break through the clouds, but as you can see, it didn't! In a way, though, it was nice to have softer light, as I don't have GND filters yet...

BTW, this photo is relatively sharp. Why does it look 'soft' up here??

Nice contrast of textures: the stringy grass vs. the smooth ice. Nice tones and colors. Sharp. Well layered in the composition. Not crazy exciting, but it's technically well done and a good image.
